Yi En has an interest in complex commercial and corporate disputes. She has represented clients in unravelling their directorship stalemates and resolving their boardroom tussles. Yi En has experience in shareholder actions; these include minority oppression and derivative actions with the obtaining of declarations and injunctive relief. She has appeared as counsel and co-counsel before the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court.

Yi En is essential to VCP’s robust trust and inheritance practice. She has a wealth of experience in contested trust, probate and administration actions acting for trustees, trust corporations, executors, administrators and beneficiaries. She has recently been called upon to render advice on Shariah related disputes for a major trust corporation.

She has served as a Committee Member of the Kuala Lumpur Young Lawyers Committee; spending her time organising workshops and forums on a myriad range of issues from sexual harassment in the workplace to employability of young lawyers. She participated in an initiative providing free legal advice to the Rohingya community.

Outside of practice, Yi En would be in activewear breaking out a sweat while tuning-in to podcasts discussing international politics and history together with a blend of observations on cultural and societal norms.

Or you may find her having a brisk trek with her 2 fur-babies.
