Alicia was a partner in one of the country’s foremost construction dispute resolution firms. She is a seasoned industry practitioner with over 15 years of experience in construction dispute resolution and advisory. She has managed and is known for managing domestic and international disputes; representing clients in high-value and complex construction matters. Alicia specialises in large infrastructure projects such as skyscrapers, highways, bridges, and power plants. She has worked on some of Malaysia’s most recognisable projects.
Alicia is also regularly called upon to lead forensic document reviews and to advice on construction contract claims. She has assisted in landmark adjudication decisions interpreting the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA 2012) on government contract exemptions. Alicia’s clients range from main contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants, to developers, employers, and solicitors who call upon her to act as counsel in arbitration, adjudication and court proceedings.
Alicia has extensive arbitration and adjudication experience; spanning multiple institutions and rules, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre of Arbitration (KLRCA) now Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM). She regularly appears as counsel or as second chair in arbitrations and adjudications under CIPAA 2012.
Alicia is also an empanelled adjudicator under the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).
She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Away from the office, Alicia enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, where she delights in cooking for her three curious and energetic little boys, who always rave about their mother’s cooking being second to none. When time allows, she enjoys sneaking off to a café for a quiet coffee break.
